Sponsored Trainer Highlight: Rebecca Cowden

Rebecca Cowden

Rebecca was born and raised in British Columbia, Canada. Currently, she splits her time between New Jersey and Florida. She acquired dual citizenship with the US in 2022. Rebecca was an avid Pony Clubber growing up in Canada where she was surrounded by a strong Eventing community. As she got older, she gravitated towards dressage, and was able to start her dressage journey in Germany at an internationally renowned training facility. As one opportunity lead to another, Rebecca found her way to the US and has essentially been here since.

She has achieved her Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals through both USDF and Equestrian Canada. She is currently an FEI CDI competitor, trainer, and coach. She has won championship titles at Regional Championships and top placings in CDIs since 2014. Her students have had top placings in Regional Championships, USDF Dressage Finals, as well as NAYC. Her time in New Jersey is spent running Rebecca Cowden Dressage out of Cluaran Sporthorses in Hunterdon County. In Florida, she is fortunate to be able to work out of Lisa El Rameys beautiful Oka Hammock Farm in Loxahatchee.

What does she love about The Distinguished Rider and  Kingsley?

"Style, fit and DURABILITY! I tend to be hard on boots as they quite often go on first thing in the morning and don’t come off until the very end of the day. And I do more than just ride horses in them! LOL! I also adore my Kingsley sneakers and loafers! I literally have my entire footwear needs met through Kingsley (except my flip flops, which if Kingsley offered I’d have those too!). I also love the Christian Lowe Leather Care line, and we use it daily. It’s a high quality product and a Canadian small business making it’s way in the equine industry, which I love to support.

The Distinguished Rider has supported me for several years now and I cannot say enough about Marissa and the rest of the team. It’s a positive, women run, small business that is thriving, and I am honored to be a sponsored trainer. Marissa offers recognition and support for many other trainers that I feel are similar to me….self employed, hard working and honest. TDR is a top class, professional but family like team. "

In 2023 Rebecca has plans to campaign her own self-trained FEI horses. She also has several clients with big goals this season including Festival of Champions, Regional Championships, Dressage Finals, and Dressage at Devon.

"Cheers to a great season for all!"
